Good research starts with a question, not an answer. A topic like social media is too broad to cover in a paper. Narrow it by asking who, what, where and when: How does using social media after 10 p.m. affect the sleep of high school students? A strong research question is focused, can be answered with evidence, and is worth asking. Before you settle on one, do a quick search to make sure enough credible sources exist, then revise the question as you learn more.
