Many colleges ask short supplemental questions, often 150 to 250 words. A common one is: Why do you want to attend our school? Avoid answers that could fit any college, such as great location or strong academics. Instead, name specific programs, classes or opportunities, and connect them to your goals: "The marine biology field station would let me continue the tide pool research I began at my local aquarium." Research each school carefully before you write.
